Still I hate doing 35mm on my flatbed so I only use it for B&W and MF My drugstore cheap 35mm scans are only good for web and they don't do MF. Unfortunately here in Canada I only get 6 meg scans for either 35mm or 6圆 for around the same cost. I have to work really hard to get an almost comparable scan at home. While I was in Paris I was getting beautiful sharp and in focus 22 meg pixel scans for my Medium Format. G.Kaplen I tend to agree I only wish the would provide tiff files at the same cost. The original poster said he had read them all, if so he has his answer.Ĭontinuing here just panders to those too lazy to do there own groundwork and detracts from the more interesting topics. If one thing is going to make a group boring, it is constant repetition of questions. Keep searching and asking questions there are plenty of knowledgeable and helpful members here- and good luck. Makes you wonder why they would even bother. They are not contributing in any meaningful way to the discussion. Keep asking questions I trust you won't be intimidated whatsoever by people that make negative, useless comments like "If you have read them all you should find your answer". I'm also looking for a scanner, but I just wanted to say this: Maybe someday when i will have more time i will show you one photo scanned with those scanners. It is also using defused light which eliminates a lot of dust from the film, has huge density and almost no noise.

I know that it sounds strange, how can 1h photolab with some collage student behind it produce good scans.but it can. Otherwise i suggest that you give your film to the nearest Fuji Frontier photolab. :) You can also check cheaper models.like 7200. If you have some time and are ready to spent hours scanning.and learn about scanning.go for it. It is good choice for home use, has relativly good noise and fine density range.

Tried Vuescan and Silverfast (scanning software means a lot), calibrated mine monitor (also bought a good one) and scanner and for film scanning i have bought Plustek 7500i which is pretty good scanner for that price (360€). Than i have discoverd color managment, it8 cards, graduated from graphics engineering, get to know density and color spaces and jadajdajdaja. It is constantly not working, photos have a lot of red noise, they are not sharp.and the most nstant film stripe jams.which sometimes can destroy your film. Maybe.i said maybe it is good for scanning photos from paper for internet publishing.

If you're only interested in seeing how your slides look, I can recommend a projector. I'd recommend shopping around for something like that.įor medium format, the price to performance ratio is a lot better on a flatbed than the calculation for 35mm. My old minolta scan dual iv isn't too bad for this kind of thing, but I don't think they're available anymore. You may want to consider a dedicated film scanner. Sharpness and grain rendering are weak points. I imagine this will be locked down as soon as an admin sees it.īefore this gets locked, I'd point-out only that my epson v500 is mediocre with 35mm. If you have read them all you should find your answer. Originally posted at 9:40AM, 24 February 2009 PDT Should I rather go with the v350, since it has a film loader (although it looks to me you get a lot of dust on your negatives that way)?Īny other suggestions in this pricerange (€150-ish) are welcome as well. I've read mostly positive reviews, but I'm not sure if it's actually a good filmscanner.ĭoes someone have some experience with this scanner? I've been looking around a bit and found the Epson Perfection v300 the best choice right now. I'm looking for a scanner that scans slide film (35mm), mainly to see how my pictures look before getting them printed.
